AppCloud action service

Hi

 

I have added new service i.e AppCloud Action while register app. Also published  it to AppCloud.

 

Now how can I see the created AppCloud action service in the campaings page under Action tabs.So I can drag this service to  campaign canvas.

Space below email banner

We use the mobile email template provided by Eloqua regularly and I noticed that many times when I edit the email banner, the space below the banner and before the first line of text is messed up and I don't know how to properly fix this.  Wonder if anyone out there can help.

 

First time creating the email from blank, everything is fine but after that, if I need to change out the banner, I click on the banner, delete then select a new image.  In Eloqua, I see the proper space but when sending a test to Outlook, it either should double space or no space, see below:

Then I go back in Eloqua and remove that space after the banner so in Eloqua there is no space (thinking will fix the double space), then show up with no space in Outlook too:

Dynamic content vs. multiple emails or landing pages?

Here's a question for everyone.  When working with data-driven variable content, Eloqua provides several different paths for managing that content.  One obvious way is to create different versions of an email or landing page and use segments, lists, or campaign decision steps to make sure that the right content is delivered for each contact.  Another approach is to use a single email or landing page and use dynamic content to manage the pieces of variable content on each email or landing page.

 

What are the advantages and disadvantages of each approach?  What kind of experience do people have with these techniques?

 

I'm interested to see what people have to say about this.

Advisory: Soft Bounceback Processing Incident / POD 1 and POD 2 Clients Only

Our Cloud Operations Team identified and resolved an incident with our Bounceback Processing Services. Between July 15th, 2014 and July 31st, 2014, there was an intermittent incident where some contacts were being marked as hard bouncebacks when they should have been marked as a soft bounceback.

 

Since our Cloud Operations Team were able to scope the impact of this incident, they are executing corrective measures Tuesday, August 5th, 2014. They are, however, unable to correct Eloqua Insight metrics that may have been impacted.

 

After analysis by our support teams, it was determined that the incident resulted from a configuration issue. The configuration issue has been resolved and production use of your Eloqua service has been restored. Oracle is also reviewing the monitoring, alerting and standard operating procedures related to the incident. After these reviews are completed, additional appropriate corrective actions identified during the reviews will be taken.

Hi all,

 

When we create a landing page with a form in Eloqua, we noticed that the dropdown menu stays in the default font whereas the rest of the page including the Form field titles follow the font set in our CSS. How can we edit the dropdown list font to follow the rest of the page?

How to tell if a contact is net new on a form

The goal I'm trying to achieve is to send an email notification around campaign activity to our partners only if the contact submitting the form is net new. I feel like this should be something achievable but am having some trouble figure out how to accomplish this in my implementation.

 

Right now I'm routing people from a form to a CDO. I'm then sending the email using the data card services. I was hoping to use the data lookup criteria to achieve this by matching the create date to a date stamp I was creating when updating the data card but I was not successful in tests. Using a program isn't an option as far as I can tell becuase the email we're sending the notification to isn't the email submitting the form but just another value on the form submission.

 

Any help or suggestions would be great.

External service error

For Instance Configuration I have set create Url as "https://app.lvh.me:3000/awesomeapp/act/create?instance={InstanceId}"

Using Strict Mode to comply with EU privacy laws

Hello all,

 

I manage a global instance of Eloqua and am investigating whether or not to use Strict Mode to comply with the EU privacy laws regarding online tracking. I'm having trouble finding enough detail about Strict Mode on Topliners so perhaps someone here has implemented it and knows first hand.

 

I'm confused if email tracking falls under the privacy laws and if Strict Mode affects only web tracking or email tracking.

 

Also, is anyone using double opt-in on form submits? For instance, after someone submits a form and asks to receive additional emails, do you send them to a second form for the double opt-in?

 

Any learnings that could be shared would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you have experience with Strict Mode and would be willing to chat, I'd appreciate that as well.

All,

 

1) I have done some research on this site , but still have a question. I am using Informatica cloud Eloqua connector (which is using SOAP API ) to connect to our E10 instance. My informatica task is updating 20,000 contacts (READ and WRITE  Batch size is defined as 200 and 200 in Informatica connection). After I ran the job, I see  in the logs several error lines "Query is limited to 1 request every 250 milliseconds (there have been 248.9 milliseconds since the last request)" for atleast 2,000 contact updates. Rest of them went fine. As per this site, we should no longer be getting this error for the SOAP and REST API calls. Any advice why I am getting this?

 

(2) Also, I have one process which is updating the contacts. Concurrently, I have another process running which is reading the contacts. What I noticed is, only one process is running (update process which started first is running). The second process reading from contact is waiting. Is this expected? Doesn't eloqua allow READ & WRITE into the same object in parallel (for different sets)?

Revisions to Template Chooser

Is it no longer possible to delete templates with the revised Template Chooser? Before the update there was a Delete button at the lower left and side as well as when you right click, neither of the options are currently working.

 

Also, Is there a way to add folders to the Template Gallery?

Engage -- Email Extraction for Compliance

Our compliance department needs the full text of any non-templated email sent via Engage.  Is it possible to have the full body text automatically flow into an external system?
